3D VFX and Animation Bachelor

The Bachelor 3D Graphic Design, VFX Animation aims at training, in 3 years, 3D-VFX Graphic Designers able to create and design still or moving image productions using their 2D and 3D skills, for in the fields of film animation, advertising, multimedia, video game, design, architecture…

The 3D-VFX graphic design undergraduate student acquires a solid graphic, artistic and cinematographic education. He/she becomes proficient in techniques of drawing, traditional and digital art, and screenwriting.

Pedagogicals objectives

After the 3-year programme 3D VFX Animation , the student masters becomes proficient in the creation of a 3D production process.

The student learns to analyse and organize a design brief to define a coherent artistic direction. He/she interprets graphic elements, and creates 3D objects for the production: characters, objects, accessories and environments.

He/she designs objects or characters with the help of textures and materials, to enlighten them, animate them and produce special effects (VFX).

At the end of the programme Bachelor 3D VFX Animation, the student has an extended knowledge of software in digital creation, 3D modelling and animation, but also in rendering methods, postproduction and editing. He/she is able to organize and manage the production pipeline, alone or with a team.

After the Bachelor programme 3D Design, VFX Animation

This 3-year Bachelor Programme 3D Design VFX Animation allows a continuation of studies in the Expert Cycle “Animation Movie” or “3D Real Time Application”.

Admission

Conditions of admission3D VFX Animation

  • Required diploma: French Baccalauréat or any equivalent (final exam of secondary school giving access to higher education system).
  • Process: Application form, tests and interviews to assess artistic and general knowledge.
  • Prerequisites in Drawing are mandatory; if the level is not sufficient the student must follow a one year Preparatory Course first.

Degree 3D VFX Animation

The 3D Graphic Design and Visual Effects Bachelor prepares to the degree (“3D-VFX Designer”), certified under a national agreement (RNCP “Registre National des Certifications Professionnelles”), level 2, equivalent to a three-year undergraduate degree.
